DELPHI – Quality Standards for care of the critically unwell patient in Africa
The aim of this group is to define standards of safety and quality of sepsis care, and describe reliable and appropriate metrics for Low Income Countries in Africa.
Adapting methods, from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, which have developed a framework for quality standards and formed the basis for recent standards for improving quality of maternal and newborn care.
The activities are:
- Develop quality standards
- Develop quality statements
- Develop quality measures
Opinions on what constitutes good quality of care will be sought, and a structured DELPHI process used to create a framework of quality metrics for LIC in Africa.
